Destiny New Zealand Attracts Strong Interest in Nelson
Over 360 locals turned out to hear the message of Destiny New Zealand in Nelson last night.
Speaking at the Annesbrook Community Church, party leader Richard Lewis told an enthusiastic audience that his party
provided a strong vehicle for the values voter.
"Our organisation and policies reflect the value and esteem we hold for the intergenerational family, the institution of
marriage and the wellbeing of children. Part of strengthening the foundation base of our country is in strengthening the
foundation of family and that is why one of our goals is to restore a marriage culture", said Mr Lewis.
Destiny New Zealand's Family Policy gives priority to the marriage centred family while offering support to sole parent
families for the benefit of children. The party also aims to repeal the Civil Union Act recently implemented under the
Labour led government.
"Our responsibility to our children is to protect the time-honoured institution of marriage for generational
continuance. We risk losing the significance of this most valuable institution if we do not move quickly to restore its
status as one above other forms of relationship, such as same-sex marriages", he added.
Destiny New Zealand candidates Maru Samuel (Te Tai Tonga) and Jason Thomson (Nelson) also made brief contributions at
the event.
