Daily Challenges For Kiwi Soldiers In Afghanistan
Corporal Clark and Lance Corporal Rosewarne relocating disused vehicles to the NZPRT compound, no mean feat considering
that they were missing wheels and seats prior to being moved.
Corporal Tony Clark and Lance Corporal Daniel Rosewarne face daily challenges in maintaining the New Zealand Provisional
Reconstruction Team vehicles, in the Bamyan Province of Afghanistan. None have been more challenging than the movement
of three 34 Division disused trucks from the division compound to the NZPRT base. The vehicles were removed to allow the
handover of the 34 Division Headquarters to the local school.
34 AMF Division (Afghan Militia Force) fought against the Taliban before the establishment of Operation Enduring
Freedom. The NZ PRT is assisting with the process of disarming, demobilising and reintegrating these groups into the
Afghan community.
The current New Zealand contingent (TG Crib V) will be heading home next month after six months in theatre. The next New
Zealand contingent (TG Crib VI) will depart for Afghanistan later this month to start their handover.
