Meads to front at Lions games
Rugby legend Colin Meads will make his presence felt at all three Lions' tests -but this time he won't be on the field.
Meads will front two thirty second ads on stadium screens at each of the three tests urging New Zealanders to have their say in the debate about the New Zealand flag. See video "Meads backs flag change".
A relaxed Meads, looking New Zealanders in the eye says "a flag is an important symbol of our country. Changing its design is a big step and all of us should have a say about it."
Meads urges New Zealanders to sign the petition for a referendum so that we can decide whether we want a new flag.
Jo Coughlan, spokesperson for the NZFlag.com Trust said 300,000 signatures are needed for a referendum for change.
"Following the three Lions' tests, the petition will run in the Sunday Star Times and on the www.nzflag.com website.
"Now all New Zealanders can easily have their say in the debate. They just need to sign the petition and send it in."
