AUCKLAND: E Day - 60th ANNIVERSARY
Members of the New Zealand Defence Force and Dignitaries will commemorate the 60th Anniversary of VE Day with a
wreath-laying ceremony in the Hall of Memories at the Auckland National War Memorial Museum, 3pm Sunday May 8, 2005.
The commemorative service marks the 60th Anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe (VE Day). The ceremony
includes a tri-service catafalque guard and a combined Army/Air Force Band.
The Right Honourable Helen Clark, Prime Minister of New Zealand; Major General Lou Gardiner, ONZM, Commander Joint
Forces New Zealand; and personnel from the New Zealand Defence Force will be in attendance.

WELLINGTON: Wreath-Laying Ceremony At National War Memorial To Commemorate VE Day
Members of the New Zealand Defence Force, Diplomatic Corps, veterans and Dignitaries will lay a wreath at the Tomb of
the Unknown Warrior to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of VE Day, at the National War Memorial, Buckle Street,
Wellington, 3pm Monday May 9, 2005.
The commemorative service marks the 60th Anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe (VE Day). The ceremony
includes a tri-service catafalque guard, bugler and a drummer.
Her Excellency the Right Honourable Dame Sian Elias, GNZM, QC, Chief Justice; The Honourable Mark Burton, Minister of
Defence; The Honourable Georgina te Heuheu, MP; and personnel from the New Zealand Defence Force will be in attendance.
