HAVE YOU MISSED OUT ON CRUCIAL ENROL TO VOTE INFORMATION?
The Electoral Enrolment Centre is making a plea to New Zealanders to check whether they have received an Enrolment Update Pack – because it could make the difference between whether they can or can’t vote at this year’s General Election.
The Electoral Enrolment Centre has announced that its major mail out of 2.75 million personalised Enrolment Update Packs to people across the country is now complete.
“Anyone who was going to get an Enrolment Update Pack will have got it in the mail by now,” says EEC National Manager Murray Wicks.
“This is crucial information to enable people to check whether they’re ready to vote at this year’s General Election. It includes individual enrolment details which will be in the electoral rolls used on election day,” says Mr Wicks.
“Check that your details are right and if they’re not let us know by updating them and returning the form.”
If you’re not enrolled you won’t have got a pack. On top of that, if you’ve moved house recently you may not have received a pack either and will not be enrolled to vote at the election.
“Enrolling is easy. Just fill in an enrolment form and send it to us,” says Mr Wicks.
Enrolment forms are available by calling 0800 ENROL NOW (0800 36 76 56), freetexting your name and address to 3676, visiting any PostShop or going online to www.elections.org.nz. You can also check and update your details online at the website.
The Enrolment Update Campaign ends on June 17 so provisional electoral rolls can be printed and made available for people to check their details.
