Hunger Strike Father Granted Bail
On Monday 2nd May, Judge Lisa Tremewan granted hunger striking father Ben Easton bail.
Mr Easton had been without food or water in Auckland's ACRP prison for 5.5 days, protesting Judge Rota's decision on April 27th to imprison him. Mr Easton suspended the strike stating "a greater urgency must be paid in protecting the relationship between a biological father and his children".
Judge Tremewan set a one day Depositions Hearing in the Waitakere Court for July 14th, 2005.
