The Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth

“As expected, he has been censured for his comments. But Mr Tamihere has nevertheless blown a gust of fresh air into the
stagnant miasma of Labour government. At long last an incumbent Member of Parliament has displayed an honest opinion. It
took guts to stand up and tell the public the truth that some of us already know about the internal festerings behind
the facade of Labour unity. Well done John, keep up the good work, and keep it coming. New Zealand welcomes your
forthright insights and looks forward to more of the same. Know that your comments have struck a strong responsive chord
with a substantial number of people - voters who are seriously questioning the future of our nation under Labour or
National government and who have grave concerns about the damage both parties have caused over the past twenty years,
with no signs of change or repair on the horizon.
Mr Tamihere's comments have brought to mind the appalling fact that both the major parties are lead by what appear to be
dysfunctional leaders. Together, the atheist and the agnostic continue in their efforts to portray themselves as
everything and anything except what they really are - they give the appearance of pathetic, emotionally restricted,
obsessive individuals masquerading as ordinary folk. "Hurricane" Brash self-exposed as an indecisive wimp with a
penchant for cleanliness, corned beef and peas. Shades of Howard Hughes? Thus far, the Don has served the public with a
small dish of tasteless policy tripe. He appears incapable of agreeing policy within his own party and refuses to
outline any solid policy for fear of political pointscoring and pilfering. Are we to believe that this dithering man
(who is conspicuous by his absence where it counts, but eminently capable of consigning innocent children into poverty)
is capable of original thought, and has the personal nous and life experience to hold the key to our nation's future?
Helen Clark self-outed as emotionally disabled (and much more) many years ago. Ian Wishart's article in Investigate
Magazine back in November 2003 regurgitated Clark's earlier comments to the media, which exposed her as an individual
painfully ill at ease with people, herself, her family and the world at large - comments she would have preferred to
remain buried in the past. So John Tamihere is not saying anything new. He is just reminding us that Miss Clark
continues to find support in the strong arms of her "butch" supporters. How many of us felt the strong shudder of horror
that travelled the length of the country last week, after glimpsing Heather Simpson striding through the halls of power?
As much horror as the leader of the family friendly party herself felt at the prospect of having children? Yes, we know
why some people have the luxury of time to plot out strategy for decades ahead.
Miss Clark dismissed Mr Tamihere's comments as "drivel". But the public knows who the "tossers" are, and where to find
them.
A few more truths from the home-front...
Student debt has reached $7 billion and continues climbing steadily into the stratosphere. Our youth have little hope of
buying their own home, starting a business, saving for their retirement, supporting the baby-boomers due to retire, and
at the same time supporting and raising their own families. As so aptly described in the recently televised TV1
documentary 'The Children of 1984', this generation is "rooted". The recommendations of the New Zealand Institute have
been ignored - intergenerational theft is rampant. Expect pale imitations of solutions under National or Labour.
Health and Education is in tatters - failings are folklore and well documented. The complicated Working for Families
package pushes beneficiaries further into poverty, twenty percent of our nation's children go to bed hungry each night,
a third of all our children live in relative poverty. A punitive government hellbent on punishment has seen our prisons
bursting at the seams, spending multi-millions of dollars on building four new super-prisons. Our Police force is
understaffed and totally demoralised. Access to justice has been limited by a steep rise in court fees. We live with
family dysfunction, escalating levels of drug manufacture and abuse, poor relationship and communication skills, poor
financial management, a breakdown in parental authority, and policies that undermine and emasculate our men and
schoolboys.
We suffer rising levels of household debt, depression, mental illness, violent crime, youth suicide and binge drinking,
gambling, racial abuse, racial intolerance and discrimination, and serious division over Treaty and seabed and foreshore
issues.
Meanwhile, our personal rights and freedoms are being steadily eroded. At a national and local level, repressive
legislation and political correctness born of the fertile minds of the minority obsessives and liberal busybodies
amongst us has crept its way into our lives, our workplace and our homes. A generation of bubble-wrapped children
wouldn't know risk if it jumped up and slapped them on the face. Ownership of New Zealand assets and property continues
to run at full speed into the arms of foreign ownership, and the legs of our nation are being prised further apart as
New Zealand sovereignty and regulatory control is ceded by this government to foreign states.
Fortunately, truth has an incredible way of striking at the heart. It has the peculiar quality of being recognised for
what it is. So you GO John, GO! Tell it like it is. Don't ever apologise, and don't look back” said Mrs Hughes.
