Hi people,
From this week onwards, Greens on Campus will now be holding a weekly informal meeting on Mondays at 10am. For now it
will take place on the tables in The Quad outside the AUSA ticketing office, but we are working on organising a room for
the imminent arrival of colder climes. As with all our events, everybody is welcome to attend the meetings, which will
discuss general activities and upcoming events. Please come along, introduce yourself, and contribute to the discussion.
Topic of the week: Implementation of The University's Environmental policy.
The more politically minded amongst you might be interested in a multi-party student debate (Greens on Campus, Young
Labour, and Young ACT) that is taking place this Wednesday at 6:00pm in the London Bar [off Queen Street]. Come along
and convince fellow students to THINK GREEN. Another email will shortly be sent out with more details about this.
Finally, for those of you more interested in the environment and sustainability in wider society, the following weeks
will see several screenings of the EXCELLENT docu-film "End of Suburbia." These are taking place at: 1. IndyMedia
[located at The Classic Comedy and Bar] has a screening at about 7:00pm on Sunday 17 April [cost $5]. Ring them to
confirm details. 2. Rod Donald from The Green Party is organising another screening on the North Shore the following
evening [cost FREE]. Email us if interested. 3. Greens on Campus is also looking to have a screening somewhere around
the University sometime on Friday 22 April. Details to be finalised soon.
Hopefully, through holding these regular events Greens on Campus can help foster a climate of informed discussion and
collective action that results in positive benefits for the campus environment and beyond. Get involved!
