The rights of a parent denied

Parents and police denied knowledge of the whereabouts of sick child: or the rights of a parent denied.
One of the most sacrosanct relationships of a civilised society is the bond between parent and child. This relationship has always been fenced by the fifth commandment “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee”. The sacred trust implied in these words incorporates an authority of the parent over the child as well as a promise of wellbeing for the truly obedient. We must ask ‘has the state, doctors or school teachers or any other institution got the right to violate that trust?’ They have not. In a truly righteous society these other institutions should be supporting the sentiment behind the fifth commandment and strengthening the authority of the parents over the child, not undermining it.
However, what do we see? We see a government actually destabilizing the family structure and the authority of the parent. On what basis? On the theory that the child has exclusive rights which means that the child can have a secret life to which a parent is not privy. This is worked out in different iniquitous ways. The government has endorsed a process whereby a child can have an abortion under the guidance of a school and doctor, without letting the parent know what is going on. This is the darkest evil imaginable. How could New Zealanders let such a state of affairs exist? Where are the opposition parties on this? One suspects that having milked this situation for all they could get out of it to embarrass the government, the problem is conveniently forgotten. Another way of saying this is that when the media decide a story has been flogged enough, the politicians look for some new point-scoring exercise. The opposition parties give us the impression that they are pragmatists seeking the next headline. If their viewpoints were truly principled, they would not let an issue like this go at all, but use every avenue, including establishing their own newspaper if necessary, to inform the public and seek their support to overthrow social evil. Of course, the major problem is that the parties that make up our parliament are not really principled at all. They refuse to take the difficult decisions because they believe that principle should be subordinate to political expediency.
Why is it an evil to deny a parent the knowledge that his child is pregnant? It is evil primarily, because the state is usurping the role of the parent, which is a state of affairs contrary to God's revealed will. And what sort of state is it? It is a state with no principles. It is a state dominated by atheists, feminists, homosexuals and effeminate men, who collectively deny that children should honour their mother and their father. Why do they deny this? Quite simply they hate the true God. We know this because they hate the moral guidelines of the one true and living God, in spite of the fact that our society was founded on moral principles revealed by God. One has to be blind not to see the evidence of this antipathy. There it is in the legalising of prostitution, homosexuality, and abortion. There it is in the cynical approval of rampant gambling which sucks money out of fools and destroys the lives of the families involved. There it is in the killing of the unborn and the clamour by many to kill the elderly and vulnerable. Notice how all these evils attack and undermine the basic building block of a civilised society – the family. This is the same intent behind the Civil Union and Relationships bills.
These people are evil, for they are patently on the side of evil. Another example of this malevolence has just come to light. Doctors used the privacy laws to hide the location of a teenager from her parents, even though she is only 15 and was living with a 17 year old boy and his father, and even though she is suffering from a serious kidney disease. The Te Awamutu medical centre contacted a doctor and not the parents. The GP later contacted the parents, but it took another two months to locate the girl who was according to one report: “sick, bedridden, dehydrated and had not eaten for days” ( Amanda Cameron) . The father summed it all up: "We were gutted. When you have a minor, you think you've still got parental rights, but no, you've got nothing, absolutely nothing."
Parents must realise that this is what this present government, and for all we know, the opposition parties want. The opposition should make it their sacred duty to promise to repeal the privacy act and return the authority over children back to the parents, in whose hands it rightfully belongs. This brave new world being engineered by this present government, with the implicit endorsement of the opposition parties, will see society degenerate further into a cesspit of evil unless truly righteous men put their hands up to serve our nation.
