Defend the Legacy Saturday 5th March 2005 Custom Street - Queen Street - Myers Park AUCKLAND
'Defend the Legacy' March Route and Venue Confirmed
Management of 'Defend the Legacy' have confirmed with Auckland City Council the route and venue for the mass march and gathering, which takes place on Saturday 5th March 2005 in Auckland City. 'Defend the Legacy', a Christian based event aims to promote traditional family values, the institution of marriage and the well being of children. Participants will gather at the corner of Custom and Queen Streets from 10.00am. At 11.00am the march will commence from lower Queen Street up to Myers Park.
Myers Park will set the scene for official proceedings commencing at midday, which will comprise of the national anthem, a 500-strong kapa haka and speeches (Final format to be confirmed)
"We are very excited about this event and look forward to a wide participation from people who are passionate about upholding traditional family values and committed to the health of future generations", said Andrew Stock, spokesman for Defend the Legacy.
