Sightings of woman being chased - Wanganui
The homicide investigation into the murder of Tania McKENZIE believe that Tania was in the area bounded by Russell Street, which is approximately two kilometres north of where her body was found, Seddon Street to the west, and Somme Parade to the east, between 2.55 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. when her body was found.
There have been sightings of a woman being chased in the vicinity of Russell and Alexander Streets, between 2 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. on Friday, 7 January 2005.
The enquiry team is appealing for any persons who are able to assist with the following:
1. Know Tania and saw her in this vicinity at the above times.
2. Saw anyone matching Tania’s description in this area.
3. Can assist with the Russell and Alexander Street sighting - the enquiry team certainly does not rule out an innocent explanation of the woman being chased.
4. Ask the public to check their eftpos receipts or any other routine to try and recall the morning of Friday, 7 January 2005.
Area canvassing has been redirected to the above area.
