MFAT Tsunami Update 14 At 1700 On Saturday 1 December
1 We do not anticipate any update on figures from Thailand until late tonight or tomorrow morning.
2 Overall numbers of persons on database for entire affected areas are 2985, of whom 1897 are alive and well.
3 Ministers Goff and Burton announced today that New Zealand will contribute urgent medical assistance in response to the crisis caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Aceh Province, Indonesia (statement on Beehive website and via http://www.mfat.govt.nz )
4 Red Cross report a smaller number of calls and will now operate 0800-2400, i.e. they will switch to an answerservice at midnight tonight until tomorrow at 0800.
