Employers Fail to Produce ‘Sickies’ Evidence for Holidays Bill
Employers have failed to produce any evidence of widespread abuse of sick leave, Council of Trade Unions president Ross Wilson told MPs today.
The CTU urged the select committee considering the Holidays Amendment Bill to discharge the Bill after a number of submissions from the business sector failed to support it.
“The proof of sick leave clause was included in the Bill on the basis that employers would produce hard evidence of abuse at the select committee hearings today,” he said.
“They have completely failed to do so.
“The employer rhetoric is just another part of their political campaign and Government should stop taking them seriously,” Ross Wilson said.
