Killer Road - Resolve this festering sore or RESIGN
Gregory Fortuin today called on the LTSA and Transit NZ to act now and secure the safety of the Killer Road masquerading as a State Highway through Porirua into the Capital. Fortuin said "one’s sadness for the tragic loss of life turns to fury at the contempt that has been shown towards ordinary citizens for far too long".
"In the short term, Transit NZ and the LTSA must act now to demonstrate their regard for our safety"
Fortuin said he has been amazed at the lack of strategic planning to deal with traffic flow into the capital over the longer term.
"If the past 50 years is anything to go by then longer term means never for all those responsible for ensuring traffic flow."
"Those in the many agencies who are responsible for this mess should have the decency to quit if they don't have the ability or courage to resolve this festering sore."
"How many more bodies do the guardians of the commercial model want before they build the alternative to this pathetic thing called a Highway" Fortuin said.
