Support For Project K’s Annual Appeal
The brainchild of New Zealand adventurer Graeme Dingle and partner Jo-anne Wilkinson, Project K is a New Zealand youth
development trust that aims to inspire 13 -15 year old to reach their full potential. Programmes build self-esteem and
give life direction by teaching life-skills as well as promoting good health and education.
September is Project K's Annual Appeal and every dollar donated means another young student can participate and reap the
rewards of the Project K’s 14 month programme. We would greatly appreciate your support and assistance in helping us
‘raise the level of talk’ and spread the word about Project K within your circle of influence.
You will have contact with many people throughout your day. Some may know very little about Project K, while others may
know nothing. Here’s where you can help.
In September to support and underpin our campaign we would encourage you to include:
an article on Project K in your publication:
one of Graeme Dingle’s adventures and his dream for Project K;
a story on Jo-anne Wilkinson – her hair raising outdoor escapades or her professional achievements and her career now
committed to making a difference in the lives of young New Zealand’s;
a story about one our graduates - how their life paths has been altered, how they have the confidence to ‘reach for the
stars’ and how they now see their future; or
mention Project K in your editors introduction in the September edition quoting our 0900 donation number and website
address
Any and all of these will make a difference to Project K and many young New Zealanders.
In addition you and your staff can make a difference:
Write an article about Project K for your local sports club newsletter;
Talk to your friends and family about Project K;
Add a two minute piece on Project K to your monthly board meeting, management or staff meeting;
Alternatively invite Graeme Dingle or Peter Doone (Project K CEO) to talk at your board, management or staff meeting,
they also make great after dinner speakers at your local club;
Place the Project K website number on your staff notice board and on your website;
Talk to your community about Project K;
Pin the enclosed staff notice up in your staff room, at the local gym or bridge club;
Have a “denim day” where staff get to wear denim to work for a day and each donate a gold coin to Project K;
Hold a staff or family event – bowling evening, quiz night, paint ball challenge, cycle race, mini triathlon, or theme
party and donate the funds raised to Project K;
Pay a game of golf or tennis with the looser donating $20 to Project K;
Do you always catch the biggest fish? Challenge your fishing mate to donate $50 if you beat him/her;
Raise funds with, family and friends by hosting a dinner party or have a blind wine tasting evening and raise funds for
Project K;
Like the races? Take a bet for Project K and donate your winnings from that one race;
Challenge your neighbour, brother-in-law or business colleague to even or better your donation!
We have never before embarked on a month long awareness campaign to support our annual appeal and we hope that with your
support we can raise the communities’ awareness of Project K. Getting the message about Project K to as many everyday
kiwis as possible is a key to achieving a successful appeal.
