Rainbow Warrior Returns Press Conference Invite
Wellington Thursday 17 June 2004: After nearly a month at sea documenting the destruction of bottom trawl fishing as part of the ‘Mysteries of the Deep Sea Expedition’, the Rainbow Warrior and her international Greenpeace crew arrive in Wellington on Friday morning.
You are invited to attend the concluding PRESS CONFERENCE:
Where: Rainbow Warrior, Queen’s Wharf, Wellington.
When: Friday 18 July, 11am.
What: We set out to document the bottom trawl fishing industry onboard the Rainbow Warrior and we achieved it. We have evidence that our fishing industry is bottom trawling the ocean floor, and that their net haul up a lot of bycatch.
Come and see the film and photographic evidence, hear first-hand accounts and get up close to unusual deep sea bycatch species. We have photos and a b-roll available to broadcasters. We have shots of CITES- list endangered black coral, a rock being wrestled around a New Zealand fishing vessel, deep sea starfish, sea urchin and ghost sharks.
