New Zealander killed in Iraq - Details Released
The family of the New Zealand man killed in northern Iraq yesterday has authorised us to release some details about him.
He was John Robert TYRRELL.
Mr Tyrrell lived in Thailand. His wife and family are resident there and his body will be returned there for his funeral. His New Zealand family comes from New Plymouth.
The family has asked us to pass on the following message: "Please accept the family's right to grieve privately. No further statement will be made".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has no further information on the circumstances of Mr Tyrrell's death beyond that released last night and this morning.
