''Please explain'' says Regional TV Station Manager
CTV Station Manager, Liz Whiteford, wants some answers.
She is intrigued by the news that Te Reo Irirangi o Te Ika, a group from the far north, has received more than $100,000 towards the establishment of regional television station
The Government’s policy has been there would be no direct funding for regional TV stations. So what we want to know is, how this group has been given a grant of $115,000 from the Community Employment Group which is a part of the Labour department,” she says.
“We all work extremely hard at CTV, as do all the regional stations, to grow our business. We have no financial support from the government, we fight for every dollar out there and we have a team of committed people both on screen, behind the cameras and of course in the sales room. All we want to know is have the goal posts moved? Is there money out there for us and if there is, how can we get it?”
