Changes To Defence Public Relations Appointments
Mr Warren Inkster has been recently appointed as the inaugural Director Defence Public Relations and is responsible for strategic Defence Public Relations policy.
Lieutenant Colonel Richard (Rick) McDonald, New Zealand Army, has been appointed as the inaugual Deputy Director Defence Public Relations.
He has line-management responsibilities for all day to day activities of the recently established Defence Public Relations Unit (DPRU).
Commander Sandra (Sandy) McKie, Royal New Zealand Navy, today assumed the duties of Defence Press Officer (DPO). Commander McKie will be supported in her duties by specialist Service Public Relations Officers; Lieutenant Commander Andrew Lincoln, Royal New Zealand Navy, Major Murray Brown, Royal New Zealand Armoured Corps, Squadron Leader Ric Cullinane, Royal New Zealand Air Force, Lieutenant Alistair Howieson, Royal New Zealand Navy, and Lieutenant Rachel Riley, Royal New Zealand Army Logistics Regiment.
Commander McKie succeeds Wing Commander John Seward who will remain with the DPRU in a support role until his retirement in May 2004.
