Statement From TVNZ Board of Directors
The TVNZ Board of Directors is pleased that the Auditor General's report on Dr Ross Armstrong now brings to a close the speculation and rumour that has surrounded the exercise.
Acting Chairman, Rob Fenwick, says that while the Auditor General's report on the former chairman's expenses while he was at the helm of the broadcaster covers a wide range of concerns, as far as TVNZ is concerned, all appropriate measures have been taken to ensure no such instance can occur again.
"Even before the investigation had begun, the TVNZ Board and management had moved to tighten up auditing procedures on directors' expenses."
Rob Fenwick says that while the issue is now behind the Company there have been valuable lessons learnt in the process of reviewing procedures.
