Peoples Moratorium Enforcement Agency to take action at Pac N’ Save.
The Peoples Moratorium Enforcement Agency (PMEA) will today be giving tours of Pac N’ Save to inform interested participants and customers of Pac N’ Save which supermarket products may contain GE ingredients.
Tours will begin at Pac N’ Save Kilbirnie at 3 o’clock the 15th December. Tour guides will lead consumers around the aisles, raising their awareness of which products they can safely purchase and which they should boycott or even take direct action against.
“The triumph that we recently achieved with Arnotts clearly demonstrates the enormous power of consumer pressure,” said Emma Wills, PMEA spokesperson. “People have shown that they don’t want to eat GE food, and yet they are often not informed enough to make that choice.” “It is up to the people to keep GE out of New Zealand. If we don’t buy contaminated food, producers will stop bringing it here.”
The tour operators will be based at a stall outside the supermarket. A PMEA spokesperson will be available there to speak with interested media. There will also be photo opportunities.
