Peter, Dumb Or Just A Liar?
In his latest attempt to justify his parties ideological support of arresting adult cannabis consumers Peter Dunne gets
just about everything wrong, as usual.
His first non-truth is that he’s been waiting for Nandor to comment on Professor Fergusson's presentation. Nandor issued
a press release on Sunday the 7th of December, Peter should read it he might learn something http://www.greens.org.nz/searchdocs/PR6991.html .
Peter Dunne should deal with the fact that Professor Fergusson's studies show that 75% of young New Zealanders have
tried cannabis by the age of 25, United Future advocates criminal convictions for all of them which hardly seems
sensible.
United Future takes a deliberate and wilful decision not to face the fact that Professor David Fergusson has stated
that, "current cannabis laws were not working and might be exacerbating the drug problem".
Mr Dunne omitted this from his press release but hardly anyone expects the truth or full story from the man who hid
away from his own electoral office while a debate on cannabis, his political parties official “bottom line” took place.
Having your party support laws which are unjust and do not work could explain United Future's demise in the polls, that
and having a leader who is seen by some as the patron saint of legal drugs and vice's. It does make you wonder what
brand of Christianity its members are made up from that they can work under this man.
In the meantime we all wait for the next young New Zealander to be murdered in a prohibition created crime, its part of
the price we pay under these harm maximising laws which do not work.
