Brash's 'F' Words Earn Libz Applause
Libertarianz Spokesman Russell Watkins congratulated National's Don Brash on his comments regarding the Clark government's announcement of an extra week's leave for wage and salary earners. "Brash has started off in fine form," said a pleased Watkins. "Unlike his many predecessors, he is speaking as though he understands his party's stated philosophy - i.e. more freedom and less government interference."
"Straight out of the Libertarianz hand-book," applauded Watkins, following principled statements from Brash like 'The National Party believes employees should have the freedom to choose...' and 'National believes that workers should have the right to make their own decisions on the leisure/work balance' and 'If employees want more leisure and lower wages, that should be their choice, not the Government's.' Says Watkins: "He took the 'freedom' words right out of my mouth."
"It's been a very long time since any National leader has even come close to using the 'f' word, " notes Watkins, who concludes by offering Dr Brash the opportunity to "continue with the freedom principle by announcing National's policy of abolishing all remaining employment legislation."
