Waatea’s Paakiwha For Today
Listen today to Paakiwaha, an exciting weekly current affairs programme with a Maori perspective. Paakiwaha is hosted by Willie Jackson and is broadcasted by Radio Waatea with funding from New Zealand on Air.
This week Willie talks to Rodney Hide about why he still thinks the Minister of Maori Affairs should be sacked and the Minister himself Parekura Horomia responds.
The Government is lifting the two-year moratorium on applications for the commercial release of genetically modified organisms and Willie talks to Rod Donald about what the Greens are going to do after the 28th October.
Te Hotu Manawa advisor, Leonie Matoe, explains the alarming rate of obesity amongst Maori;
Winston Peters talks about the Supreme Court and the Maori vote and why his party is experiencing a rise in popularity amongst Maori voters;
Paul Morgan outlines the Federation of Maori Authority’s view on the Supreme Court, as does John Tamihere.
