MPs Toast to Freedom For Amnesty Week
Members of Parliament will raise their glasses in a Toast to Freedom in the Select Committee Room (G2), Parliament House at 4.00 pm tomorrow (Thursday August 7th).
The event will mark the MPs support for Amnesty International's work defending human rights nationally and internationally.
The Toast will be a celebration of Amnesty's Freedom Week National Appeal, which is taking place 5-11 of August, all over New Zealand.
The MPs will salute the liberty they have to Toast Freedom. As explained by AINZ Executive Director Ced Simpson "We toast freedom because in New Zealand we can."
