Jobs Jolt initiative welcomed
The Jobs Jolt programme is a positive move with the potential to help the road transport industry deal with the growing shortage of drivers says Road Transport Forum Chief Executive Officer, Tony Friedlander.
“One of Jobs Jolts aims is to assist employers facing skill shortages according to the Minister of Social Development and Employment, Steve Mahary. Road transport operators are increasingly facing just this problem. The industry is putting in place its own measures to address the numbers issue, but this new programme may well open up new sources for new recruits and is more than welcome. The Government is to be commended for this putting this initiative in place,” Mr Friedlander says.
