Cutting The Runway Ribbon
The Minister of Defence and Chief of Air Force will officially open the Ohakea runway upgrade Monday 16 June.
The Air Force's new Boeing 757 will christen the runway with a touch-and-go manoeuvre prior to landing. The opening will include brief addresses from the Minister of Defence, Hon Mark Burton and the Chief of Air Force, Air Vice-Marshall John Hamilton.
Media wishing to attend are asked to contact F/S Paul Stein on (06) 3515 490 or 021 378 001 to arrange access to base. Media need to arrive at Ohakea Air Base by 7.40am at the latest.
