Ladies in Waiting - Mothers v Government
Mothers wearing rubber cow heads will assemble outside the High Court in Auckland tomorrow (Tuesday, June 10) at 9.30am in a silent vigil at the opening of their case against the government allowing GE experiments on cows to go ahead.
In Wellington another group of women from Mothers Against Genetic Engineering in Food and the Environment (MAdGE) will stage a 'ladies' lunch' in Midland Park at noon on Tuesday wearing cow heads and serving milk garnished with mice.
Three days have been set aside for the case, taken by the mothers' organisation against the Environmental Risk Management Authority, Environment Minister Marion Hobbs and Crown Research Institute AgResearch.
MAdGE legal spokeswoman Kate Woodd will be at Auckland's High Court at 9.30am to speak to media.
Ends. For further information phone Maike Nevill on 09 849 2411 or 0274 247 137 or check out our website at www.madge.net.nz
