CTU Secretary Resigns
The secretary of the Council of Trade Unions, Paul Goulter, has announced his resignation and will leave the CTU in June
2003.
Nominations for a new CTU secretary opened today. The 34 unions affiliated to the CTU will elect a new secretary.
Paul Goulter has been CTU secretary for three years.
“Paul has made a tremendous contribution to New Zealand’s trade union movement in the past 20 years, and a much wider
contribution in his time with the CTU,” said CTU president Ross Wilson today.
As CTU secretary Paul has actively worked with unions to rebuild strength after the Employment Contracts Act.
Paul Goulter has also played a strong role in promoting the social dimension of growth and innovation.
“The trade union movement in New Zealand is growing in strength and relevance to the needs of workers in New Zealand,”
said Ross Wilson.
“Paul’s contribution is widely acknowledged and he will be missed.”
Paul Goulter is moving to Australia for personal reasons.
