“Boy Racer” Bill Just the Ticket say AA Members
A recent AA survey showed that an overwhelming 93% of AA members support the “Boy Racer” legislation being passed in Parliament today and, of those, 72% strongly support the Bill. Only 3% were opposed.
The survey also yielded an unexpected result: a surprisingly high number of people may be directly affected by “boy racer” activities. 35% of respondents indicated that they had been personally affected by “drivers using the roads as a raceway”.
“That one-third of the population considers they have been, at one time or another, personally affected by such activity shows the introduction of this legislation is addressing a widespread public concern”, said George Fairbairn, NZAA Public Affairs Director.
