FFNZ support United's Common Sense Approach to Property Rights
Gordon Copeland's Private Property Rights Bill takes a common sense approach to clarifying the rights of landowners,
says Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Inc) President Tom Lambie.
The United Future MP's Bill will explicitly state the right to own property and the right to compensation in the event
landowners is deprived of property.
"New Zealand's wealth depends on the management of our biological systems and the investment of small business owners,
said Mr Lambie.
"For landowners the confidence to invest and grow their business depends on secure property rights.
"You only need to look at the situation in Zimbabwe where a resource rich country has essentially remained a developing
country because of an erosion of property rights.
"Secure Private Property Rights are an essential element in the wealth creation and prosperity of this nation."
