International Women's Day 2003
Protest Saturday March 8
Mass demonstrations are expected around the world this International Women's Day on March 8. As part of this international day of action women in Auckland have called a demonstration at Aotea Square to protest against war on Iraq. After assembling at Aotea Square at 12 noon to listen to some speeches the march will head to the US consulate where "weapons inspectors" will make their search.
International Women's Day is traditionally an occasion to protest against wars of aggression, injustice and inequality.
Organisers are expecting a big turnout of men and women to the protest because there is such a strong mood among the public opposing the war.
Rally at Aotea Square Saturday 8 March @ 12 midday. All welcome.
