Workers want extra leave
Workers have given a ringing endorsement to a claim for a fourth week’s annual leave.
Some 300 workers meeting in Auckland today listed the extra leave as a top priority in the Metals and Manufacturing
collective agreement negotiations.
The Metals is the country’s largest private-sector industrial agreement. It covers more than 2000 workers at more than
200 companies.
The workers’ union, the EPMU, and the Employers and Manufacturers Association will start negotiating tomorrow to renew
the agreement.
