Minister's Commitment To Clean Up ACC Administration Welcome
“The clear commitment by the Minister to restoring fairness to ACC administration is the final building block in the process of rebuilding a scheme New Zealanders can be proud of,” the president of the Council of Trade Unions said today.
Ross Wilson was commenting the speech by the ACC Minister Ruth Dyson at the launch of the ACC Code of Claimant’s rights at Parliament today.
“The Code is a welcome step forward but the real commitment was the Minister ’s strong pledge to restore fairness: fairness in administration and application of entitlements and fairness in dealing with people,” he said.
Ross Wilson said the re-established national ACC scheme had already delivered to business in providing the cheapest premiums of any scheme of its type in the world.
“It has yet to deliver to injured people in consistent fairness of administration and care,” he said.
