PSA and Auckland DHB Collective Agreement ratified
The partnership relationship between the PSA and the Auckland District Health Board was instrumental in the two
organisations reaching settlement on a collective agreement covering the Board’s 1,700 PSA members, PSA national
secretary Richard Wagstaff said today.
“We are very pleased to acknowledge the move by the ADHB, in recognition of the success and benefits of the partnership,
to allow for union facilities to be strengthened to enable enhanced PSA participation in the workplace. There is also a
commitment to introduce payment levels for professional development for mental health and public health nurses by July
1, 2003.”
Richard Wagstaff said other provisions of the new agreement, which runs from February 1, 2002 to September 30, 2004
include:
Increases to base salaries of 7.33% over the term of the agreement; Joint development of new salary scales with
increased annual incremental progression; Translation into new scales from 28/01/02 with additional progression also
applying from 28/01/02 A commitment to continue joint development of merit criteria for advanced practice and senior
roles.
“The settlement reinforces the positive and co-operative relationship between the PSA and the ADHB – one which benefits
our members, the employer, and, ultimately, the New Zealand public.”
