PETA’s Giant ‘Carrot’ To Give Students
Pro-Veggie Message
USA’s ‘Righteous Root’ Has Just the Fix for Kiwi’s Corpulent Kids
Auckland — On the heels of alarming reports about the rapidly expanding waistlines of children down under, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), and Save Animal From Exploitation (SAFE), have dispatched the lovable, 2+-metre-tall ambassador of healthful eating, Chris P. Carrot, who will hold a sign reading, ‘Eat Your Veggies, Not Your Friends’, and hand out leaflets as he greets ample little Kiwis on their way home from school. The ‘carrot’ will urge kids to chuck the burgers, dump the dairy and eject the eggs from their diets in favour of delicious, low-fat vegan alternatives:
Date: Tuesday, 12 November
Time: 3:00 pm
Place: St Kentigern School

Why do PETA want New Zealanders to trim the fat? Fat-laden animal-based foods have been linked to obesity, and obesity kills. Eating meat and other animal products not only causes immense suffering for the millions of animals raised and killed for food, it also leads to life-threatening illnesses in consumers. Being overweight during childhood increases the risk of adult-onset diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease and kidney failure. In the last 10 years kids average weight has increased 2.5 kilograms.
‘Meat and dairy foods make kids fat, not fit’, says PETA Director of Vegan Outreach Bruce Friedrich. ‘It’s time to put children on a healthful and compassionate vegan diet.’
Chris P. Carrot’s world tour continues to New York, Washington, Los Angeles, London,
Rome, Toronto and Dublin.
