Journalists Misled By CHP
Questions surrounding the financial administration of the Christian Heritage Party continue, with journalists and Party Members wondering why Graham Capill has tried so hard to stop their inquiries.
In the past few days, Mr Capill has been caught out giving incorrect answers to journalists’ questions about the uncertainty surrounding the Party’s financial administration.
In responding to journalists’ questions about the recent resignations of Party Secretary John Bryant and Finance Committee Member Keith Burgess, Mr Capill stated that these two senior office bearers had not held their positions for two years or more.
However, the Party’s Official Directory, published by Mr Capill’s office in July 2002, still list Mr Bryant as Party Secretary and Mr Burgess as a member of the Finance Committee.
Furthermore, the Party’s own website continues to show Mr Bryant as the Party Secretary ( http://www.chp.org.nz/index.php?cid=33=14 ) as at today. The Chief Electoral Office appears to have only received news of Mr Bryant’s departure in recent days.
Why has the Party Secretary resigned immediately before the Party’s Electoral Return is due for lodgement with his signature on it?
If these Office Bearers had really resigned years ago, why has Mr Capill tried to maintain to the Chief Electoral Office and Party Members that they were still in these positions?
For what looks like a simple administrative matter, why has Mr Capill tried so hard to stop journalists’ and Party Members’ inquiries?
