Aotearoa Maori Govt: Withholding Information Wrong

Published: Fri 18 Oct 2002 09:06 AM
Kia ora
The Aotearoa Tangata Whenua (Maori) Government is not supportive of any acts of the Ministers of any government that withholds information on the safety of its sovereign and Independent land and people of Aotearoa and extra territorial lands of Te Moana nui A Kiwa, (Bali).
As Minister of Internal Affairs & Lands for the Maori Government I support Mr Bill English (National Party) in his quest for the New Zealand colonial government to tell the public and Tangata Whenua how much they knew about the possible terror attack on Bali.
Every vague rumour or indication of a terrorist nature coming from a Intelligence agency is to be taken seriously and is the duty of all governments to inform and ensure their people of such rumours before it happens but not after.
Helen, I am very disappointed at your attitude and how you claimed Bill English has been distastefully politicking for headlines, I don’t think so Helen, is that the best you can say?, you have unobtrusively done and said some silly things in just these past three months in which you did not inform the public of Aotearoa of those too, which are very much as important as the Bali issue.
Our country is suffering from the unhealthy consequences of your decisions Helen, I feel and share the same message with Bill English and will now make this issue high on the agenda when the Maori Government and Parliament meet in congress next week at Waitangi.
Yours Sincerely
Hon: Ni Hake PS; Because of the importance of this issue I have forwarded a copy of this letter to Bill English and the media.
