Building Democratic Unions and International Solidarity.
Wednesday 4th September, 7.30pm,
Trades Hall, 147 Great North Rd, Grey Lynn.
Nadine Rae, an organiser for the Service and Food Workers Union, will show a video about industrial action at the Sky Tower, Auckland’s biggest worksite, and talk about the struggle to create strong , active and democratic unions.
She will talk about ways to increase union membership and encourage grassroots participation in union decisions and actions.
She will also share her experiences of building international solidarity, including the building of links with the striking Nestles workers in the Philipines.
Nadine will be speaking as an individual, and not as an official representative of the SFWU.
