Attacks On Doctors Not Acceptable - CTU
The Council of Trade Unions is backing the call from the doctors’ union for the Health Minister to disassociate herself from the chair of the Auckland District Health Board following his attacks on doctors in last night’s Sunday television programme.
“Wayne Brown should acknowledge the huge contribution of Auckland doctors, nurses and other health workers in very difficult circumstances,” said Paul Goulter.
“It is not acceptable for a person in Wayne Brown’s role to undermine and insult doctors.”
Paul Goulter said the CTU shared the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists concerns at the impact a crisis in confidence among doctors could have over the future of Auckland health services.
