Voter Turnout Crucial for General Election
Leila Boyle, the Labour Party candidate for Tamaki, is warning Labour supporters not to be complacent about voting in
the General Election this Saturday.
"I know the Labour Party has been enjoying a large lead in political opinion polls, but that does not mean supporters
should take victory for granted," Leila Boyle said.
"We all know that bad weather can deter people from getting out to vote, but both Labour and New Zealand deserve better
than fair weather friends.
"It is important to remember why Labour is in front. It is because Labour has contributed so strongly to sensible,
stable government over the past two-and-a-half years," Leila Boyle said.
"It would be so disappointing if supporters undid all this hard work by being complacent.
"Voting on Saturday is absolutely crucial. Every set of two ticks for Labour will increase the likelihood of sensible,
stable government for the next three years.
"That is what most New Zealanders want, after all, and it is certainly worth going out for a little while in the rain or
cold to make sure it happens."
