The electoral rolls that will be used for this year's general election will be available for electors to check their
enrolment details from this Wednesday 17 July.
Electoral Enrolment Centre National Manager Murray Wicks said the electoral rolls would be on display at PostShops,
public libraries and courthouses throughout the country.
"Electors who are not enrolled or whose details need updating should fill in a new enrolment form urgently," Mr Wicks
said.
Enrolment forms are available from PostShops, public libraries and local council offices, by calling 0800 ENROL NOW
(0800 36 76 56) or from the elections website www.elections.org.nz. Eligible electors can also check and update their
enrolment details and enrol online.
Mr Wicks said that electors who enrolled or updated their details after the electoral rolls closed for printing on 25
June would not be listed on the roll for their electorate and would need to cast a special declaration vote on Election
Day.
"There is also still time for the 185,000 eligible electors who are not enrolled to enrol and vote in the election.
Eligible electors have until 26 July, the day before Election Day, to enrol," Mr Wicks said.
"We're encouraging anyone who has not yet enrolled to do so as soon as possible, so they can be sent voting information
before Election Day."
Mr Wicks said that to date, about 2.63 million people had enrolled. This represents 93.5% of the estimated eligible
voting population.
