Condemnation of plans by foreign pornographic film makers to degenerate the dignity of a yet to be born New Zealand baby
is backed by Roger McClay, Commissioner for Children.
Shannon Pakura of the Department of Child, Youth and Family Services has criticised the plans for a New Zealand
expectant mother to make money from the birth of her baby as part of a porno film.
“Child, Youth and Family are spot on in their criticism” said Roger McClay today.
“Vixen, the porno makers, should stay away from our children” said Roger McClay.
“When New Zealand committed itself to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1993, we gave an
undertaking that we would protect our children from all forms of sexual exploitation and abuse.
This planned pornographic film is a blatant example of exploitative, coercive child abuse.
If New Zealand allows this film to be made and distributed, we will have grossly neglected the recognition of the baby,
and our commitment of 1993.
Child pornography is illegal and evil.
I will not sit by and see this unborn baby made a victim of ignorance and selfishness.
These porno film makers will not easily trample on the basic human rights of any newborn, New Zealand baby. This is so
serious, that I would expect a commitment from every political party to ensure these evil intentions of depraved people
are not allowed to eventuate.
If the current law is unable to stop this filming take place, I would expect the next parliament to rapidly pass a law
which would ensure it doesn’t take place.
Since when is childbirth a matter of pornographic gratification and for whom?
Where is the market?
What is the dignity of a newborn, New Zealand baby worth?” Mr McClay asked.
