Published: Wed 10 Jul 2002 02:12 PM
The National Party President, Michelle Boag, welcomed the findings of the Serious Fraud Office investigation, released today.
The findings made it clear that allegations related to donations to the National Party in the mid 1990s were without foundation.
"It was very important that this matter was cleared up before election day", Ms Boag said.
"We were always confident of our processes for dealing with political donations and are pleased to have this endorsed by the SFO".
"We were happy to cooperate fully with the SFO throughout their investigation and are happy that this matter is now at an end."
