~ 22 October to 3 December - Ship for World Youth 2002, the purpose of 'The Ship for World Youth' is to foster the
spirit of international cooperation and to promote friendship and mutual understanding between the youth of Japan and
youth from other areas of the world. The Ministry of Youth Affairs, together with the Embassy of Japan, is in the
process of selecting young people for the Ship for World Youth 2002 New Zealand delegation which will comprise one
national leader and ten young people. Applications relating to the role of National Leader are to be received at the
Ministry of Youth Affairs by Friday 14 June; all other applications for the participating youth are to be received at

On 3 July there will be a demonstration opposing the continued earthworks in Ngawha starting at 10am at the Kaikohe
District Courthouse (see local listing below). "Demonstrations simultaneously held in your district would add impact and

~ July to October - 'Fundamentally Muslim-Islam, Modernity and Cultural Identity' - a new course on Islam that is
