The Alliance Party List sees good placings for Wellington based candidates.
Party General Secretary, Gerard Hehir is ranked six, Vern Winitana, standing for Te Tai Tonga is seven, Ohariu Belmont candidate, Rebecca Matthews, is eight, Wellington Central candidate, Robert Reid, is eleven and Rongatai’s Vern Tile is fifteen on the fifty strong list.
The Wellington candidates are all concentrating on winning Party votes for the Alliance. “It is critical that Alliance pass the 5% threshold and our job is to win Wellington’s share of those votes,” said Robert Reid.
“We want to see the policies that we have fought for in the current centre left government continue,” said Rebecca Matthews. “This will not happen if Labour governs alone. We believe that Alliance is the only choice left.”
The Wellington Alliance candidates promise a strong and vigorous campaign and look forward to the election whenever it is called.
