Give Up On the Nats (Oh! I See You Have)

"Bill English and the National Caucus have themselves to blame for the appalling result in the latest NBR-Compaq poll," announced Libertarianz Leader and Tauranga Candidate Russell Watkins today. "Frankly though, I'm surprised that even 28% of voters remain with National."
"The Nats are bereft of policy and ideas," says Watkins. "Their obsession with scandal and trivia; their "limp-wristed" tax cut policy; the lack of any commitment to cutting the size of the state, improving property rights, or increasing recognition of personal responsibility - all supposedly core National values - shows that Bill English has taken National even further away from its principles than Rob Muldoon once did."
Watkins says he wonders why anyone would vote for National. "They promise to do nothing to give parents back their taxes if they want to choose themselves what education they want for their kids. They promise nothing to remedy the "die while you wait" public health system that rations demand politically; and they promises to do nothing about bulging numbers of people living in abject dependence on state welfare," says Watkins. "Why would anyone support a party who so transparently stands for nothing except getting their bums into ministerial limos once again?"
"The National Party has said nothing at all about reversing Sandra Lee's widening of local government powers, has only ever paid lip service to changing the Resource Management Act, and said nothing about abolishing the pointless, wasteful and proliferating bureaucracies like Industry New Zealand, Ministries of Pacific Island, Womens and Youth Affairs and the Human Wrongs Commissariat."
"I encourage those who have voted National in the past to give up on this third- rate excuse for a party of enterprise," says Watkins, "and instead vote Libertarianz."
"Libertarianz would immediately abolish a wide range of taxes, including GST and slash income and company tax to a low flat rate of no higher than 15% - and that's just for starters!" he says. "Libertarianz would get government out of business entirely by privatising all state owned enterprises and repealing laws that stop people engaging in voluntary trading activities. The Resource Management Act would also be scrapped, and replaced with laws protecting private property."
"This is a programme that will allow New Zealand to prosper, and will set people free - and one utterly different from the coercive politically-correct fascism of the Labour Party and the entrails of the Alliance. It is about freedom and it is principled, and it is about time New Zealanders had that choice" concluded Watkins.
It's enough to make you vote Libertarianz!
