Unions Committed To Air NZ’s Success

Council of Trade Unions secretary, Paul Goulter said today that the unions in Air NZ have always accepted that the company is in a perilous state.
“As the Government made clear, Air NZ needs to trade its way out of its difficulties, and this has meant a complete look at the airlines short haul and long haul business,” he said.
“The unions in Air NZ are committed to the airline not just continuing, but succeeding.”
Paul Goulter said the unions in Air NZ were talking with the airline about its broader strategy and the discussion included looking at all the company’s business areas.
“We want to see a strategy which acknowledges the reality of the customer base, values the brand and respects the contribution of staff,’ he said.
