of 162 year old Tiri Mahana who was born on the day the Treaty of Waitangi was signed, and her life encompasses the
period that Maori and Pakeha have lived together in New Zealand - "captivating, profound, controversial, tragic, heroic
and deeply moving". Directed by Nancy Brunning with Kahu Hotere and Riria Hotere; 7pm at the National Library

~ FRI, 15 March - picket in front of the Israeli Embassy (111 The Terrace) to protest against the cruel occupation and

~ FRI, 15 March - update on current situation in Afghanistan - Pauline Horrill, who has just returned to NZ having been
working with Medecins sans Frontieres in Afghanistan will speak about her experiences of Afghanistan, the work of MsF

~ SAT, 23 March - Race Unity Parade! to celebrate Race Unity Week - begins at 10-30am in Justice Park (near the
parliament end of Lambton Quay, the small park which backs onto the Courts), then will proceed along Lambton Quay, into
Willis St and then to Civic Square. The parade will be welcomed onto Civic Square, and then several speakers, including
Gregory Fortuin (the Race Relations Commissioner) will be accompanied by a variety of musical performances. Everyone is
welcome, please come along to show your solidarity with those communities who are struggling with racism and racial
discrimination, and support for the message of harmony amongst diversity; bring your own banner on the theme of
celebrating our diversity. The parade is an event to mark 21 March, International Day for the Elimination of Racism and
Racial Discrimination; organised by the Human Rights Commission, incorporating Race Relations, in partnership with the
Wellington City Council Community Services.

~ Philippines Solidarity Network of Aotearoa are currently looking for assistance with the costs associated with
bringing Emilia Dapulang here for a national speaking tour in September. Emilia is the vice president of the KMU
(Kilusang Mayo Uno, or May First Movement), the best known Filipino trade union confederation. She will be speaking on
the topic 'Globalisation, Women Workers And The Struggle For Justice'. She will spend two weeks here starting in
Christchurch and finishing in Auckland; we aim to get her to Dunedin, Nelson, Wellington, Palmerston North, Hamilton,
Whangarei and some smaller centres as well. The timing is deliberately chosen to focus attention on the adverse impacts
of globalisation, just before the election. If you can assist, please send cheque (payable to PSNA), with a note saying
