Bradford Refuses To Face Facts
Yesterday, during her speech in parliament about proposed changes to the DPB, Green MP, Ms Bradford said the following; "As a society, should we not be doing more to value the work of mothers and homemakers, rather than less? Bringing up secure, happy, healthy, well educated children from the day of their birth is surely a goal all of us should aim for, no matter what side of the political or economic fence we sit on."
"What Ms Bradford determinedly ignores is the mounting evidence that children without fathers are less likely to be 'secure, healthy, and well educated' ", says Lindsay Mitchell, petitioner for a Parliamentary Review of the DPB.
"Whilst the DPB continues to replace the father, we will continue to see the growth of poor single parent families and the disintegration of strong, self-sufficient two parent families."
"I wrote to Ms Bradford in August after she had made similar comments in parliament. I asked her to define the type of parenting a government should value. After repeated attempts to secure a response, she still refuses to answer my question. Is this because she knows that valuable parenting is not parenting by the state?" asks Mitchell.
